Elipse™ is a swallowable gastric balloon designed to aid in weight loss. It is a non-surgical and non-invasive option for people who struggle to lose weight through diet and exercise alone. The Elipse™ balloon is made of a soft and flexible material that can be inflated with a sterile saline solution after it is swallowed.
The balloon takes up space in the stomach, making the patient feel full and therefore less likely to overeat. The Elipse™ balloon is designed to stay in the stomach for approximately 16 weeks before it is naturally excreted from the body. During this time, patients are encouraged to follow a healthy diet and exercise program to maximize their weight loss.
